climbing classes or instruction?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows of any courses or classes that I can sign up for in Minnesota? I have not climbed before, and would real like to learn. It will also be a big part of my job when I learn. Thanks for the help.
 
I'm not entirely sure of the details, but I believe the folks at Fresco have some classes on occasion as well.
 
What is your job going to be? I have this feeling that you're not talking about arboriculture... Most people just learn on the job, though that's rarely the BEST way.

Tophopper will be teaching at Hennepin Technical College again this year. They are starting a two year arbo class. Get hold of admissions quickly in order to enroll in the fall classes.

Fresco would be a good contact too.
 
My job is for a city in Minnesota as an arborist. They have never had one and nobody in the department climbs, or knows anything about trees. It seems lately that all I am is a logger. They have more dead stuff than live stuff. How or where can I get a hold of Fresco? In reading some comments about learning on the job, again, that would be fine if there was someone to learn from. I guess I would like to learn from someone experienced before I go up in a tree. Thanks for the help.
