Climbing boots for more grip while limb walking

The Tango's look interesting. If you get them, give us a report. They certainly are at a great price point.

That was my first thought also. I think Nick or Bix had a set a few years ago if I read correctly on one of the other sites.

Those tangos do look sweet, but not waterproof, no go hear in portland.
I haven't used the clip ins, but I really liked the evos. The bummer is you won't get a year out of them.
I've had the salewas for a few months now and I must say that I'm really really impressed.

How are those soles Jon, they look a little better than what is on my Merrills? Luckily I don't have to climb but waterproof would be nice, I missed that actually. About the only non Gortex shoes I own are dress shoes.

No noticeable wear from daily use since January. And they grip really well on slippery wet English walnuts and mossy elms, whatever you got. I hope they last and I've found the boot for me.

U can also just pinch em a little tighter so your foot ascender slides right over instead of snagging. Grip is awesome with the salewas

Love the clip n go Arbpro boots for foot locking rope, limb walking, light duty pruning ,seed cone collection , very sticky soles, soft on cambium. but forget using them in deep brush, chainsawing ,walking through water and heavy duty hiking for that I go back to Asolo I've had a pair for years I cannot destroy them. They are very slippery on water and ice now and tear up the cambium on trees which isn't good on very old rare trees so I use both all the time for different applications. Aerial go Arbpro , Ground and pound go Asolo. I've ruined lots of boots shoveling or digging trees by hand my Asolo have a solid toe and sole perfect for that stuff too. but both get very cold here in Michigan during the winter.

I have the Arbpro Clip N Step and the sole does have better grip than my grippiest hiking boots (which are pretty good) and for that, I love them.

My only problem with them is that where the left front strap end on the left boot connects, something is slightly wrong with it and it has an uncomfortable lump that makes it painful to actually use the 'clip in' feature with my knee ascender. I should have exchanged them but thought it might get better (it didn't).

Okay so I ordered the Drayer Tango today. I will keep you all posted on delivery, initial thoughts and reviews at various times during my use with them.

I also looked at indoor soccer cleats and so on. Never tried them either but I was also trying to think outside the box on this.

wearing the evos right now - very comfy and with excellent grip - amazed on some of the smooth euc's these boots still give traction on. sweet boots for footlocking or wearing a foot ascender.
