Climbing boots for more grip while limb walking

Supposed to get the Trangos tomorrow, hopefully I will get some time in them next week. Have to put a new roof on moms house this weekend. (That's why I'm the favorite).

That was my first thought also. I think Nick or Bix had a set a few years ago if I read correctly on one of the other sites.

I've had a pair of TANGO Extreme chainsaw boots from Drayer for a couple years now... awesome boot! Nice find on those TANGO pruning boots, wonder why TreeStuff doesn't have em'?... OH WELL ... I'm getting a pair too!

I got them yesterday Bix. They are a slim snug width but not bad. I got the same size I wear in boots per NGD recommendation and it fits fine, they do seem to run good on sizing. Those of you with extra wide feet might find them to tight and might need to try a larger size. They seem well put together and look like they should be good in the canopy. I'm planning on givening them some tree time this week and will update this as I go.

Okay so I took a break and through some gear on. Had the Trangos on for about an hour while pruning a couple trees at moms. I like them. Had good grip and sat well in the crotches. I'm not sure about foot ascenders yet, I ran Ddrt at footlocked. Sometimes it's just quicker when you only have a few things to trim.

So I spent about 3 hours in the Trangos today. I am really like these so far. They work fine with an ascender, no pressure points digging in due to the high wrap rubber sides on the inside of the shoe. They're flexible enough to dig into crotches both sideways and heel to toe. The wrap around rubber really gives it a firm grip on the bark. The footbed is flexible enough to bend but still firm enough to stay comfortable on limbs and when wedging it into the crotches. If anyone else gets them let us know you opinions but so far I am really liking these things.

Still loving the shoes. Had to adjust the CT ascender down a little towards the ground today as it was bitting the flesh for some reason today. As soon as I got it bsck on the rubber side pad all the pressure went away and all was good again. The more I use them the stickier them seem to get.
