Climbers for Christ

I think and feel that this will definitely raise some eyebrows and ruffle some feathers but there is many things about the bible being taken as the actual literal truth in every single word that troubles me.
this video tackles the subject better than I could.

Glad you are back Frax, I hope your eye is healing well. The eye is such a small organ of the body I take for granted all the time, until it gets scratched or injured. Then I realize why God gave us two.

So I'm curious, what reason do you think you have a "moral compass" for?
It's just a vaguely snarky declaration. I was a little bit astounded to discover that there are still adults who believe that atheists lack a moral compass - the ability to respect the ideas of 'right and wrong'. I realize that probably doesn't apply to any in here, but it was a startling revelation nonetheless.
I never even considered the need to have a religious label before. I don't really like to have that label at all. Most of my life I didn't even consider religion or my place in it. Perhaps it's mainly an American thing, but recent social media suggests that it's not necessarily confined to America.

It was not my intention to be "snarky", I was merely trying to make a point that the complexity we can observe in nature points to a God. The revelation of Jesus the Christ is a different matter that can only be revealed to you if God wills. If it's of interest you can look up Ephesians 2:8-10

As for morality, I don't doubt that you are capable of deciphering right from wrong (or at least abiding by your definition of morality). I do wonder what prevents you from doing whatever suits you if you have no fear of a God? If I didn't fear God then I could change "morality" to fit whatever pleased me. Sure I could fear the consequences of society and that could keep me from doing some things that society dictates as "immoral". Society itself has the tendency to change what it views as morally acceptable (for example the legalization of abortion of infants in the USA). True morality is great and if Christians were the only moral people in the world, it would be a much worse place than it is today. The problem is morality does not save us from the wrath of a perfect God.

An atheistic worldview cannot justify morality.

In order for True morality to exist there has to be a moral law giver.

You couldn't be more wrong.

For instance the golden rule...................

Do you feel that only people who believe in the same god you do can have morals?

.....and if they do, as it is evident they must..........where did these morals come from?
