Cleveland Ohio fun climb

It came as a suprise, but it seems we have a go for a day of tree climbing on Sunday, September 27, at the Cleveland Metroparks Bedford Reservation.
Should be a hoot, we even have a pavilion for a cookout to follow. Beautiful area, in the gorge of Tinkers Creek, the largest tributary of the Cuyahoga, and next door to Cuyahoga Valley N.P., for those who've never been there. Certainly nicer than my neighborhood.

Thanks to John H. for applying some pressure, it's always good to have an angle.

If anyone is interested let me know, I'll post more info as it comes.

Ryan.

Hey everybody,
Things shaping up with the climb, I should be able to post more specifics later this week, particularly the wavier info. As it stands the area reserved for us on the 27th is the Lost Meadows picnic area from 10am - 5pm, although we can get there earlier than that.

The woods there has trees a bit smaller than where I had initially hoped to climb, but the area itself makes up for it. We will be climbing trees above the creek gorge itself, with a few good candidates for climbing pretty much on the edge of the precipice. With the colors changing around that time, we might need to employ some poets to better describe what our eyes will be seeing.

More later,
Ryan

Would love to be there. So Im from Buffalo do you have an address. If anyone from around me wants to go let me know as well I'll do a 2 day stay over and come back

Just got confirmation from the Park reserving our site, I signed my life away, and that might be collateral enough for everyone else. In short, it's ON!

Based on the first round of calls I'm expecting at least 12 climbers, possibly upwards of 20.

I sent an e-mail out to a bunch of folks, if you didn't get the info, or if I mucked up the attachment, let me know.

The park rules are pretty straightforward, seems they'll be trusting us to keep high standards for safety and care for the trees.

Things looking better and better here.
I took another hike around and found some better areas than I had seen on the first scout. A bit of a hike from the pavilion leads into some big Red oaks, Tulips, and then it turns into an impressive group of Beech, with Yellow birch and Hemlock to boot. Should be something for everyone.
There's even a pair of spread-out Sycamores near the pavilions, so there should be plenty of space to try out new ideas while waiting for burgers to come off the grill.
Can't wait for Sunday
Ryan
