chip bags

Have you ever thought about the intake tubes for those leaf vacs to aim your chips? I've seen them 12" and they are rugged. It would be pretty easy to work up a support too I would think.

Thanks for your help Tom, (kinda

That looks great!

The chute extension is trick too!

I just built a removable box for the pickup. If there is still overspray I'm going to make up a chute extension like yours. Having chips to rake up later is not my idea of fun...especially in triple digits heat!

That old stovepipe chute had seen it's better days, we had to do some reinforcing on the the new chute as well. Give me another decade and I should have this stuff figured out.

Love your ideas, just waiting for the time i can upgrade my wheel barrow for a tractor. Cheers

I made a deflector shoot with poly Ice rink boards and CraZy carpet snow slider. Held up for almost two years with minor repairs for my 6".
The poly can be scored with a poly scoring knife and folded or rolled in to shape and then with a little Ali angle riveted together. Drilled holes onto the chipper shute to accept short bolts and the ali is drilled to accept those bolts add a bungee for extra security. It goes on and off with every trip but have driven high speed and it stays on.

Plus its light weight and easy to handle. the crazy carpet gets torn to shreds but it is there primarily to slow the speedy wood chips down.
Go by your local rink and see if they got any old ones lying around.

Oh that reminds me if your lookin for thick rubber tiles for impact dampening on lwns or roof or just for the shed/garage floor these things get thrown out regularly from the rinks(used to walk for people in skates to keep their edge. litl used a bit abused but do the trick!

When you have accumulated lots of stuff (think George Carlin) going small becomes an attractive dream. I think it takes you out of the big money grab to some extent from a big crane grab or a big tree job etc. Prob a mix of big and small stuff is most advantageous.

Just a little note to selfs....this little Toro STX 26 $15k (I got it for 1k less) that we have had for maybe a month now is just amazing us how capable and versitile it is.

Not trying to hijack this thread but the theme seems to be
"going small" and this fits the bill in spades.
