check this out. OSHA hawaii safety breaches

Washington State Labor and Industries is also focusing on tree care companies. Rates are going to be going up hard and high. Each region right now has an inspector who is working primarily with tree services to ensure compliance. They are handing out fines and helping people learn.

I just read the PDF, and all it said was Fall Protection, Construction industry. I would not assume at all that it is "tree workers" at the top of the list by any means.

I just went through a Fall Protection OSHA course from my employer, and it had nothing to do with Tree work, which is technically work positioning regulations. (at least climbing, crane work is fall protection) What we were taught was more concerning roofing, open pit, etc., using shock absorbing lanyards. It is pretty easy in the construction industry to get cited for violations in this field, and OSHA is really cracking down on construction now.

sounds good to me. (heart to heart honest voice)---->> guys im not tryin to be a dick here, im just verrrrry scared that someone is going to die from a tree related accident here on maui. i have seen all the crews work here and only a hand full are OSHA and ANSI compliant. if i become OSHA certified to enforce, im gonna do it out of me not wanting to see someone killed rather then just being tree police. i care for the community and the last thing anyone wants to see happen is a death that could have been prevented. climb safe

Josh have you ever thought of getting OSHA certified and maybe going into enforcement?

What steps would I have to take to become OSHA certified? I would be interested in looking into it.
