David--Since you would print that on a public forum, I sense that you are pretending to joke about this, but I also sense that deep down you really believe that I have won in the past on some kind of crooked scheme or favoritism. I'm ok with that, really. I know the rules, I understand the scoring, and I take enormous pride in my wins, sorry that you feel that way. By the way, I assume the chair you are talking about is Tim, who was the chair for the first time last year (I didn't make it to MC last year.) Guess I need to pay him more.

Noel, Its all a joke...said in fun. yes, there was a year (2nd in nebraska) that the crowd winner didnt win, but you didnt win either. Its still debated whether the crowd favorite truely should have won or not but Its water under the bridge and out to sea. There was another yr after the masters, the scores were extremly close and (as I understand), the judges were asked if they wanted to rescore or double check their figures before the winner was announced, in which they refused.
I too know (or knew) the rules (i havent read this yrs updates). I understand the scoring and you SHOULD take enormous pride is your abilities. I could only DREAM to be as good as you.
I dont think youve ever won on favoritism.
My apologies.
