Chainsaw safety question.

I consider these hazardous to use. Curious if others do as well. It comes from putting two saws together in order to carry them. I also consider it a lazy habit.

Just use saw condoms. I used to store them and carry them like that saves space never had that issue...... get creative enough and you can fit a 044, 360pro, gallon of oil, 2.5 of premix a tool bag with essintals in it gallon of water and lunch all on the back of a klr650 for a full day of cutting wish I still had that pic bungee net FTW !!!! but I'm running pro saws with the aluminum wrap handle and always use a saw condom.... if you feel unsafe replace the wrap handles and then wrap some thin sheet metal where they chew on each other pop rivit it in place and don't forget the love glove shit there like 3 $ or something

Thanks - I do use the bar covers aka saw condoms. It's the other 35 people that don't. Imagining if someone got hurt from a saw because they're saw handle was worn in such a way OSHA might take exception to the handle. Just seeing if anyone else works where this is a common practice ;)

I don't let people damage my tools, personally. Probably too much so. I could probably stand to let things wear out faster and replace them. Personal use of tools is different than professional use.

Used 3" firehose works great as bar sleeves, if you can find it. Easy to put a clip-in loop so they don't get lost so easily.

I like having bar sleeves on my bars for an additional reason. If there is a bar sleeve left empty at the end of the job, its easy for employees to see that they left a saw somewhere (unfortunately, not in the one staging area).

Maybe a cost comparison of new handle bar replacement versus used firehose. Maybe an easier system for storing sleeves, so that they are easier to use.

I can much more ergonomically grab two saws "married" together in one hand that carry them seperate in one hand.
