Chainsaw protective pants

Hey guys, I'm looking into picking up a pair of chainsaw protective pants in the next few months and wanted to know what you guys recommend. My understanding is there are two types, a Type A which provides protection for the front and Type C, which is all around protection. I've heard the type c's can get hot in the spring and summer months, so I'd like to stick to type a's.

I know Pfanner makes a good product, but I can't find a website for them to see their selection.

Thanks for the help!

Here is something to look into....

Be aware of who manufactures the pants. There has been some informal testing where the Pacific Rim pants won't stop a chain when the pants are nailed onto a log for the test. Name brand pants do.

I picked up the Pfanner Gladiators from Sherrill and worked in them for the first time this weekend, removal and prunings.

They fit snug but still moved well. Compared to my Swedepro, Husky's and Stihls they were much more comfortable. The big question will be durability, do they last long enough to justify the price.

I always have full protection summer weight pants. Yes, they get warm in the summer but I accept that for the sake of safety. Look at the clothing a firefighter wears and imagine how hot that gets. Just keep hydrated and give your head and neck a soaking along with a taking a cool down break. In the end if you've decided to accept you'll get warm then it'll be less of a problem. Mind over matter...

Pfanner chainsaw pants are great for climbing.
They will last a full year or two off tree climbing without a problem. After 2 years the stretch effect is worn out and the pants are no longer in great chape.
They are well worth your money.

I recently tried a new pair off SIP progress chainsaw pants and they seem to be just like the pfanner great for climbing.
How they perform during the first 2 years is a question.

see : http://www.safetygreen.nl/downloads/Binder%20kleding.pdf

the dutch climbing gear dealer for the different chainsaw pants. I'm not sure if they sell them abroad.

good luck and hope you get yourselve a good pair off pants.
