canopy anchors

Great video! I use the pinto method similar to the one shown at the end of the video. I prefer to use a Petzl Vulcan and trap the loaded side of the climbing line to eliminate any concerns of incorrectly loading the pinto.

personally i believe the DMM pinto to be way stronger in situation where it can experience a side load due to the becket. please remember that this is not a manufacturer's how to video- it is just a collection of ideas that we wanted to share.

Definitely, I agree and think that the pinto is a superior pulley in general.
But just wondering of there is any reason that I'm not aware of that the fixe would be unsuitable for this.

When I first started using the Fixed pully tie off a couple years ago, I tried it with a fixe because it was affordable and I already had one. The only complaints I had were it was smaller and it was not rated to 23kn (the new one is), otherwise it worked well enough that I bought the pinto and didnt look back.

A good basic video. I try to base tie as much as possible if I am doing multiple trees so I don't have to take my hitch and rope wrench off many times during the day. The pulley retrieval is the next best thing for sure.

Great, I look forward to it Drew.
I also really enjoy the backgrounds. I have travelled quite a bit in the past but not as much since the birth of my daughter. I now live vicariously through other peoples adventures.

i dont run the carbiner around the rope as i feel with a redirect in place the rope runs against the carabiner and not the pulley when retrieving, a minor issue but just a teeny difference.
