CAMELBAK SS WATER CARRIER - I may have been mistaken

Yeti says dish washer for drinkware is OK !

Check w/ your particular maker !
My yeti tumbler with dishwasher water rattling around inside where the vacuum chamber used to be says otherwise. Just saying… ymmv

Have never seen this one before. 1 gal... YOWZA, LOL!!!
I have a 1/2 Gal & the 1 Gal. They will keep ice water all day in a hot car.
The spout cap is magnetic so it "sticks" inverted to the top (i.e. hands-free).
Can be used to easily refill bottles, or drink directly (if you're the only one using it).

Not everyone knows you can pre-charge your insulated container, either with hot water of ice water before putting in the food/ drink of choice.

If you want hot soup for lunch, put boiling water into the thermos to preheat, then put in hot soup.
Yep.
Also chill the water before adding it to the ice.

Hmmm, lots of input here. Well, I kind of poo-poo'd the comment about residue from SouthSound... but I think he's right. The first thing I tried was, I took a metal scrubby and scrubbed inside the mouth and down the sides, hard, as far as I could reach. Then I checked w/a flashlight inside - I couldn't see any change in the color of the metal. Or even scratches, for that matter. I'm sure they're there, but if the lining was as delicate as I prev. thought, it would have come off quite easily.

Then I used some Dawn and my plastic bottle brush and scrubbed the inside again, really well, and this pic is what it looks like now. (still wet) Under magnification I still see some curious spots where the 'sparklies' look like they've worn away. But all in all, aside from where the water inside is drying and there are obvious shading changes... I think I was wrong. I don't usually post full res pics but in this instance I believe it's warranted.

I owe CamelBak an apology and I have to edit the title of this post so no one else gets the wrong idea. I believe it WAS residue from the lemons or the cranberry I diluted for flavor. I really did clean it w/a brush the first time, but I may not have used soap. The appearance was SO MUCH like wear that I thought I was correct, and the interior was wearing off. Now, I believe I may be wrong.

Sorry to waste your time.
told you so.... :bailando: (I have a 14 year old and 4 year old... I've digressed in maturity)

Chill the bottle super cold, fill about 1/3 full if very frozen ice (stick to your fingers cold). add handful or two of baking soda. put a lid on it and shake like mad..The baking soda sticks to the ice and scrubs the sides/bottom and transition

Sounds like a call to Yeti Cus. Serv.
Oh I did, and it was replaced. Eventually…However, the point in my mind is they aren’t going to continue to replace them in perpetuity and it’s way less of a hassle to just hand wash rather than go through the whole send it in for a replacement song and dance when it fails from running it through the dishwasher. I have no confidence that they hold up any better than any other vacuum insulated bottle in the dishwasher. Maybe you’ve had better luck. Good for you.
I'm not too worried about messing up a Yeti tumbler. In addition to the half dozen in use, I still have 98 in reserve in the basement.

If anyone needs 20 oz tumblers for half price ($15/ea), DM me. Minimum of 2.
Dan there’s got to be a good story behind why you have so many yeti tumblers?

I've seen salt and ice used to scrub coffee pots.

Actually, I hand wash a lot of my "stuff":
Yeti drinkware
kitchen knives
pot & pans
good glassware
etc
