Buckingham Tree Squeeze

This product is 8’ long, which equates to a diameter of 25”. Minus space for the tail and adjuster and a bit more for comfortable work positioning, is this really useful? I say no.

Much cheaper and more useful to get some thimble prusiks and a hank of lifeload rope.

Stumps, this comes in 8,10,12ft. options.

My buddy has something that is similar. Me personally, I've always just cinched my climb line around the trunk when chunking out a spar. Either with a carabiner or bowline.

My buddy seems to like the friction saver / tree squeeze and I guess you can descend quite a ways and then retrieve the rope. Could do the same thing by cinching the line around the spar with a tail as well.

The biggest difference I think, between the tree squeeze and and regular friction saver made of climbing rope is that the squeeze is very stiff which aids in retrieval and when spurring up or down climbing on rough bark species

Yep and it kinda “springs open” too. I use it on palms and the flip ability of it is much easier than a rope type friction saver. I set my wire core flip line and this at pretty much same length and grab and flip both together. Takes a bit to get used to but super handy on palms.
