broken ring and funny world

I doubt it has much impact.......but more pwer to you.

Way back when choiunard got sued for something that broke.....it hasnt stopped folks from using BD gear. FWIW, thier slackness in batch testing became clear with the bad rings....that probably sunk in more.


I aint defending kong......but I aint gonna martyr some gear cause of a ring.

last thing. a single ring as life suport is not a good idea. It is becoming clear that a bridge is a high wear and high stress area( several broken brideges too).....be aware.
 
Seems like the Ergovation is one saddle where it it possible to tie two bridges, and have redundancy. The one point of attachment without redundancy thing has never sat quite right with me, but I've just rolled with it.
 
I stopped using the Kong Robot in favor of the conterra scarab, I still love my futura hand ascender, no way am I gonna thrash that. There are plenty of things that Kong sucks at but if they make the best tool for a certain purpose than i will climb on it. I almost feel bad for Kong. they seem kind of clueless in a quaint italian kind of way.
 
now, the conterra scarab is by the wayside too. Storricks website explained that they actually stole the name from another manufacturer. f'd up.
 
i just realized that I have three of these rings that I purchased (from sherrill) for making a friction saver that I never got around to making. Is sherrill still accepting returns on these?

PS I don't hold them responsible for the potential failure.

Do I get this right: That KONG thinks that no climber should ever climb on an unmarked ring!?
In my gear there is an unmarked ring on my treemotion (bridge, side D's, lower D's), bridge on my Butterfly, rings on my cambiumsaver and ring on my old Ropeguide.

Am I a complete fool the use this gear, or???

I'm interested to see what proof they have.

If they do have proof that they are in no way connected to these rings, I think we have to look back at Sherrill. If I understand right (and I don't always!) Sherrill named Kong in the recall.

We received rings of the exact and unique appearance of the malfunctioning ring from Kong, positively.

Until very recently we were only reselling Kong rings sourced from Kong in Italy or, before that their distributor (US Rigging in CA). We have an extensive paper trail of purchasing and reselling ONLY these rings for several years.

Over the past few weeks i have had extensive discussion with Marco Bonaiti via email. I expect to report back shortly.
 
Tshirts are designed. Will be printed tomorrow. I somehow fudged the numbers and didn't order enough shirts so I went to walmart and bought a ton more long sleeve tshirts. They will be printed in brown, navy blue or grey, the others will be printed on royal blue.

If you wanted a shirt, pm me the size. If you wanted a shirt and didn't get the order in in time, pm me, I probably have it now or can have it printed for you before Wednesday.

I will be at the show Thursday around 1-2. I have classes throughout the whole weekend but I will be walking the floor Thursday til 430, Friday after 12-4 and all day Saturday. Call me to meet up for the shirts. 856-834-6619.

I'll know the exact price come Wednesday but it will be under 20$.
