Broken man, extreme burnout

@levi r

You haven’t made any content in a while, not trying to talk you in or out of anything but have you considered showing off a bit? Either that or hit the books. That’s my drive now, the work feels generic and day to day but the puzzles and learning are keeping my feet in the pond.

Whatever you do, don’t disappear on us

Mostly every day driving trucks to job site I'd (have to) use the smile technique to relieve stress, stress that wasn't based on much other than being naturally occurring and presumably based on what could go wrong on route or that day. Smh.
Rarely did stuff go wrong but that didn't stop the pre-job stress, doh.
The technique, for anyone who may be unaware but interested, is simply to crack a smile and hold it for several moments. You could try it rn. It pretty much always works for me, makes me feel a bit better and lightens the load on the brain for a bit. Repeat as needed. Afaik, scientific research backs it up too.
Serenity now, insanity later.

Levi, it appears that offering your truck and tools up for sale indicates there is no turning back, no second thoughts.

What are your thoughts or plans moving forward, if you care to share

Hi Cory, Apologies for the delay, been offline a bit. Yes, selling the truck and tools is a bit of a 'burn the boats' strategy. And, as reckless as it may be, I really have no plan at all! Tons of ideas but nothing concrete. I just realized I would never be able to figure out the next step if I didn't burn this sucka down. Thankfully, and luckily, I can work for a friend 2 days a week as a sub. That will cover the bills for awhile until I get something else cooking.

:asadito:

New rig, tools, and machines to spice it up.
Me getting a new machine poured gas on my burnout fire… Brand new Vermeer mini skid, I’d only put about 5 or 6 hours on it, and a bunch of bolts on the undercarriage/pontoon frame interface were backing out. The Vermeer team told me to fix it myself…. In response I told them they should send a service truck out, or an equivalent replacement while they sorted my machine, only to be met with attitude then radio silence. Never have I spent that much money on one single thing in my life, and to be treated that way just burns me. Fuck Vermeer.

Try calling Vermeer directly and find a new dealer.

I called Iowa, at first they seemed aggressive to make things right, but the new dealer they put me in contact with didn’t do shit about it either. I get that anything new, some kinks may need to be ironed out, but fucking A, stand by your products, or step up and do the right thing! I sent them video of the loose bolts and the odometer all in the same video, their response: “fix it yourself”….. I couldn’t believe it. Honestly at this point I’d sell the machine at a loss, just to scrub it’s negativity and bad memory from my life.

Shit like that isn’t brand specific, sure there are better and worse across the board.
Our local bandit dealer blames bandit and they had a falling out. The only other one is 3 hours and a boat ride away. I told them what was wrong with my machine, wouldn’t help confirm diagnosis on the phone. Told me I had to bring it in and leave it for atleast ‘a few days’
I just ordered the part from landmark machinery

Thought I'd update here since I've had some people asking what I am doing. Y'all are too kind, really. :)
I've been enjoying a good long break from tree life, but no new endeavors to speak of. Been on my death bed from the flu these last few weeks so now peeking out into the world again to see what's going on out there...

The flu K variant is insane, my friends. I'd been healthy as a horse for years but this flu took me through the bardos, stay healthy folks!!!

The covid vaxx has been shown to increase the risk of flu by damaging the immune system..

Results

In both analyses, we show that more SARS-CoV-2 vaccinations are associated with a higher risk of influenza-like respiratory illness and workdays lost. For influenza-like respiratory illness, the association is stronger with a more recent timing of the vaccination rather than the number of vaccinations, which suggests that the effect wanes over time.

Did you have the fever sweats hallucination dreams? My son just went through that for the first time to my knowledge and it brought back deja vu - wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Yes, two nights of insane fever delusions, one night entirely dreaming in 2D. Deja vu yes, and remembering things from the distant past, very strange state of consciousness! Waking up covered in sweat and violent shivering head to toe, I think it's the sickest I've ever been. I agree, wouldn't wish that on anyone. I hope your son is recovering well.
