Broken Kask

Anybody know if there are any warranties on the Kask Super Plasma helmets?? Mine took a tiny spill off a rope bag today and ended up with a broken size adjuster...essentially rendering the helmet unusable. The helmet is 2.5 years old but it seems that a little spill like that shouldn't bust any integral part of the helmet. I mean we are working in trees afterall...they should be built to take a little bit of a beating!

Like Petzl they have a limited warranty. Petzl is 3 and Kask is 2. It usually requires you to mail it in to have it repaired. Email them about the details

Right...so even if it is covered under warranty, by the time I mail it to ITALY, wait for the repair, and wait for it to be sent back, I'm looking at several weeks, if not months without a helmet. So essentially it looks like I'll have to go out and buy a new one regardless...

Contact them and give them the details. It's the only way they have an opportunity to respond and possibly take care of the issue. If you don't then it's a problem they never hear of. You're not the first one to face this problem and they may be already have a solution that will work for you and give them the chance to resolve the issue.

As an example, we had a problem with our DMM small impact block. It's a few years old but they still arranged for us to have it shipped to them in Wales at no cost to us. They replaced the block despite it not being a defect in materials or manufacture. That's what smart companies do, take care of their customers that bring problems to their attention.

I totally agree. I sent them pictures along with an explanation of what happened. I'll wait to see what they say...but I still don't see a scenario in which I won't have to go out and buy a new one. Monday morning I need something on my noggin'...

I did that with my sequoia saddle. Sent them mine got a replacement I had to pay for. Once they decided it would be covered then they reimbursed me.

Get that commitment from them first.

Good luck. Kask has the worst customer service ever. When the foam came unglued after less than a year I emailed their customer service. It took me about 3 months and a super nasty email to get any response. Then all I got was sorry that happened. We will send you a new helmet. Hopefully things have changed.

Do you guys have any update on that post? Just broke my 8 months old super plasma’s size adjustment strap too and noticed that the foam seems to be falling apart...
