Bridge for glide

The bridge on my glide is getting pretty worn out and needs to be replaced. I priced them out and I only found them on Sherrill's website for $50!!! I find that a little steep for a foot long piece of rope. Anyone have any ideas for a safe bridge replacement?

The bridge that can on the glide is 7/16 warpspeed witch is amsteal with a cover I think it is rated at 13,000lbs or something in that range. $50 bucks is a bit steep You could put lots of different things on there you just have to deside how strong you want it.

There's no need for it to be 13,000 pounds strong. My recommendation is something that can handle abuse (I think polyester does best in this situation), comes in a tight enough weave that the core strands don't pop out on the splice (which just looks bad and scares you when you're in the tree and look down and see fuzz), meets the 5,000lb ANSI suggestion (which is overkill when you consider what the rest of the harness is rated at), and can be spliced smooth enough to not be too noticeable when climbing on it (I've seen some bumpy bridges that are not smooth when rotating left/right).
