I'm loosing...my... grip mann!.. Were's the sign up sheets.. Ahaahaa!!
Hey Kelly us competitors love volunteers I mean there are no comps without them.I plan to help at an event next year, but dude if you climb daily you problably have something to offer in the comp the only advice I have is you need to be climbing on a distal,,vt or other comp level friction hitch,, otherwise someone told me I should have went to watch an event before I entered it,I'm glad I did not listen the most fun i'v ever had in the trees,, finished midfield,,, just learn the rule book and ask questions on this board!!!

I'll be there to help out. I don't get to do enough climbing to be competitive. If you guys in Asheville are going to be doing any practicing, i'm interested in driving down for some rec climbing.

Just to put it out there. Matt Hodges won the Masters climb at Charlotte on a blakes hitch, closed system. No frills.

Hello Everyone,

It is with my utmost apologies that I tell everyone that we will have to plan for the BRAA Climbing comp on another day. While we could get the logistics worked out in time and set it up. I did not allow us enough time to lock down the judges we will need, and rather than put on something inadequate, we will postpone and re-plan this event. The BRAA is here to stay though, and we are looking forward to promoting arboriculture in Western North Carolina and the Southern Appalachians through many events such as this and through highlighting other areas of our profession. Actually, Bill Hascher of the Biltmore Estate is planning an Urban Forestry Products Expo that same weekend of the 8th, and he expects that event to be great! Locally, we may try to set up a "practice" climbing competition for people, especially local guys, to get an idea of what a climbing comp is like, but unfortunately, no BIG comp YET. ...YET!!!

I apologize again for any inconvenience caused for anyone who has made plans. If there is anything I can do to help if that is the case, please feel free to message me or get in touch through other means.

Thanks again everyone.

- Andrew

No Worries.

Would like to participate in a practice climb sometime and also check out what Bill Hascher has going on, on the 8th. Can you give us some more info on that expo please Wagnaw?

Yeah man, no worries. I still may be coming down to NC around this time and bringing some friends along, so let me know if you guys plan a practice climb. i'd love to get in on that.
