That's a shame Jesse, you seem like a nice guy too.

May god have mercy on your soul if he treats you anything like he treated his double braid splices.

As for the tree. I hate pine tree removals. I hate there faces to death but I'd preserve preserve preserve.

But not because I care about them, I'm much too hard for that. I am what most folks call "a straight up gangsta mutha(badword)"

ok here she is
I climbed to the tips in all directions and came to the conclusion, I dont want to do anything to this tree.
Its a long video but I would realy appreciate input.
No codoms to be found.
The way the branches on these pines tend to die from the inside / out has left few options for reduction unless its smaller 2-5 inch cuts on the very ends. Even this will poke holes in an already sparse canopy.

I have no work right now but Im not willing to sell somthing that will hurt the tree just for the sake of a dollar and the false sense of security tucking the tree in by 4 feet will bring the client. Besides. I can climb it for fun whenever I want to

Save the trees! They could be called 'land kittens' then everybody would want to save them and cuddle with them

[/ QUOTE ]This light reduction can greatly reduce loading--see tree statics.

Sparseness is a concern--what are you doing for the bottom half of the tree?

I have not thrown a light reduction of the upper canopy out the window .
The bottom half of the tree? What would you reccommend?
There is a little bit down low that can be reduced but not much.
The wider tree is getting elevated which should be a blast and LOTS of climbing.

The bottom half of the tree is underground; the roots need care too.

o and btw if a lot is coming off of an adjacent tree that means new loads on this one so maybe a little less blast will lessen the chances of a blast of wind breaking branches, or worse...

Re: BIG pine ...Crown reduction or not?

Oh silly me.
The bottom half, duh

There is a local guy here who makes compost tea.
I think he incorporarates fish into the brew somehow.
I wonder if these trees could benefit from this.
The soil is pretty compacted from years of flood irrigation.
They have never been fertilized.
