When a customer calls and claims to have a big tree, I am usually skeptical. "Big" can mean anything from 8" diameter on up. This tree, though, was 6' diameter, the largest red mulberry in Missouri, before it fell down. The owners wanted me to mill up anything that would make a board. I had to modify the clamps on the sawmill so I could cut 3' long "logs". This was one of those PITA jobs that I'm glad I charged by the hour! On the plus side, I got some amazing lumber from it, and didn't hit a single nail!
