Mike, I've heard all about your bandits, from my bandit rep. Don't get me wrong we love our 250xp, 2 200+ and 90xp. It's just that the 18r out performed the 280xp. In fact it was because of how well the rest of our bandit discs work that we wanted to go with the 280. Both machines fed crane lifts (tops and limbs) so well I was impressed, very minimal manual labour for ground crew. The differences really showed in the winch, that we use religiously, and when we started feeding wood. I think we tested them fairly, used them each on a job for a day then took them both to our wood pile at the same time and fed them equal size and lengths of wood.
It didn't help that the bandit showed up built differently than spec'd. Fit and finish is a little better on the 18r as well.
Thanks for the tip on the back filing. I've seen it in the 200+ manuals(mid 90's) but it doesn't reappear in the newer machine manuals, wonder why.
