I've seen a very good, "out-of-state" climber (not eligible for Masters), at a Work Climb event get ready for the Landing Station.
He paused, long enough to take out & extend a small umbrella.

Like Work Climb. Demonstrate a controlled landing on two feet.

Throw in a couple more DQ methods, and it might make people toe the line a little less.

If the system isn't safe on its own, then it isn't a safe system.

How fast someone goes up is only so useful, but being able to switch to descent mode safely and quickly is something that I personally put a lot of emphasis on.

I'd like to see an ascent event with the bell hanging from the bottom of a bald face hornet's nest...

Change over
Decent backup

Yes - - you need a very good belayer.

In my experience at TCCs, the belayer is frequently a "last pick" job.
