at the german tree care days in augsburg last week we(drayer) and the other equipment stores had change some pulleys.
i must say that the new dont looks better there is not a screws as backup the "??mother??" (in german mutter and translate mother for this thing) now its a little split pin.. looks not very serious but i think he know why he recall that stuff and its good to do this...
and: the new pulley (cocon) looks very beautifully!
good finish!!!
The only other reasonable way I know of is to tie the throwline to the ropeguide while installing it, then having the throwline just dangling in the tree out of the way.
I like the idea of the Double Snapper. I don't like the price.
The blue rope is the acsent line, close to the t.i.p. The green rope is extra from the rope guide. Simply attach the rg to the ascent line. When you pop out the rg it is then connected to your acsent line. I also do this alot.
Thank you, Tod. Now I get it (I think). You hit the ground, then retrieve the Blaze as usual. The little red ball grabs the rope guide, which is tied to the ascent line (blue). As you continue to pull on the Blaze, it ALSO pulls your ascent line down, and resistance of the ascent line is what controls the descent of the rope guide?
Yep that is correct Nick. Also if you are going to be coming down where the blaze isn't going to be parallel to the ascent line you shouldn't hook up the retreival ball to the blaze. Then when you are back on the ground just pull out the blaze then when you pull the ascent line it retreives the ropeguide
anyone in western Canada had to send a ropeguide back? I have a defective unit, and can't seem to get any help from local suppliers, including the Sherrill rep with Vermeer Canada.
