ArborWear Stretch Tech

got me pair last week and wore them under half-blown out rainpants all day in 50 degree rain - best pants for this condition ever. didn't stick to me, didn't absorb water, weren't too hot under rain gear. spiffy britches. i am never taking these things off. seriously.

Wow, sounds like ArborWear has a heck of a new product. Can't wait until they come out.

I only hope that someday they can come out with a good pair of chainsaw protective pants.

Well some people got to try these out because they are realy cool, I got to try them out because I begged and pleaded like a little girl. Just for the record. Still I'm greatful. :>)

yeah man...170 bucks is a lot.
I got a pair of mountain hardware 4 way stretch pants with zippered side vents, zip off scree-cuffs ( which work awesomely to keep chips outta yer boots!) at an outlet store up here for 39 bucks!!

and they are tough, tough performers.

I've got the same pants and love them. REI makes some awesome climbing pants that Ive been beating to death daily for two years and they are still in great shape. No holes, no broken stitches, no problems and they are 130$. I wear the same pair everyday all week and they stand strong. I only own 4 pairs of work pants (one of them rain specific) and these bad boys keep on trucking

I'll buy a pair of AW stretch techs for a compairson.

Can't freaking wait. Two thoughts.

1.) $170 might just be the MSRP. I would guess they'll sell for below that figure. But who knows.

2.) If these things take off... I'd be shocked if chainsaw pants weren't next in line for Arborwear. Stretch pants are a much less expensive undertaking because there is no safety testing involved. Saw pants require extensive $$$ testing (which is part of the reason why there are so few options for saw pants in the US). But yeah... I'd be surprised if AW didn't eventually go this route given the largely unmet demand for good saw pants.

Got some more info from the fine folks at Arborwear:

Pants should be available in a month or so. Definitely before ISA. The retail will be $159.95.
