We could use one or two new people. (Ground people)
Two types I'm looking for right now.

1. A really smart guy on the ground. He can progress to a climber if he wants or progress to be the best highest paid groundperson ever; if he is really smart and continues to learn and do everything. Good, SMART, hard worker with tree knowledge, if green, around $15 to start likely progress between $25 to $30 an hour if he can do everything on the ground. (fell trees accurately, remember the work plan, get a CDL, run all equipment, know tree species, plant perfectly, perform maintenance, talk to customers intelligently, be on damage control and safety). Most guys I find, are okay and learn for a while, then plateau and flatline, kinda irritating. It would be so nice to have a genius of a groundguy to go with the good climbers we have.

2. Laborer. Doesn't have to be a genius, but knows how to rake, get things, notice things and keep the Hell out of the way. Safe enough to learn to use chainsaw, etc. Plus strong and energetic. Pay likely $10 to $15 an hour.

Write me at MAIL(AT)ARBORX.COM , use the @ symbol instead of (at).

Label the subject as JOB POSSITION.

We are a small company that is proud of our work and enjoy our work.

Work should be fun and interesting, not just hours on a job.

We focus on quality work, doing things right for the tree and working with safety. We enjoy technical rigging and challenging situations.

We are picky with our customers and picky with our crew we hire.

We have the right equipment to make the job fun and not back breaking. Owner works on the job, so that helps. We spare no expense when it comes to tools to make our job easier.

You get paid for your skill level and what you produce, not time. For example, some guys get hired and then get a dollar raise every week for 6 weeks because they are smart, hard working and progress. You get paid for progression, not time invested.

The last laborer was hired at $13 and never learned to even rake efficiently, he never got a raise in 6 months and was let go. (first time this has ever happened actually).

That's how it is, apply if you might have what it takes.

Just being honest and upfront so we don't waste each other's time.

We only run about 5 or 6 employees max, so why not have the best we can get, feed off of each other's intelligence and strength? That makes the job interesting and fun.

Most of your life will be at work, make it something you enjoy.

XMAN, I can't think of anyone offhand but will keep it in mind. I know your often on the go, and don't have time to waste filtering through a bunch of mediocre workers, treebuzz I'm sure will come through with the best of the best.

What an opportunity for someone to become part of the crew, very lucky! When I got the opportunity to work with you guys it was nice of ya'll to trust me and my rope access skills to setting lines in the tree, letting me do my video/pic thing etc... Great communication, keeping each other safe, and working at a good pace for the day was key. Hope you find the right fit.

All I have to say is David came with his family and spent some holiday time with me and my family here in Barbados....He is a hell of a guy with a passion for treework and knowledge to go with that passion. I think anyone who is interested in this type of work, would be making a good choice working with David Driver, there would be so much room for learning and gaining valuable experience. Wish I was in my twenties and a born American I would take him up on this offer in a heartbeat.....

Sounds oh so sweet, maybe I'll give up climbing and just be a ground dude. Could be fun.
Sadly, its hard to find those guys....at least around me. I cant even find good climbers to join me.

Well wishes X

Yeah Whiz! Call him!... I know X seems like a jerk here on the internet, but believe it or not, in real life he's actually a halfway decent guy.

Very very touching BiXler, brought a tear to my eye...

I appreciate you two guys speaking up, especially since you spent time with me in person. It felt like BiXler had worked with MattyD and I all along, when we played with the big Euc.

Swing, thanks man! Looking forward to more time together in your paradise.

It's funny how similar we all can be.

No new hires yet. Whiz did call....

I think he skimmed over it a bit fast and maybe the pay seemed like climbers pay and you climbers were commenting.
Easy mistake. I'll probably be working with him a bit someday.

Anyway, like I said, no new hires yet. Someone left a message today, but he mumbled and talked so low, I just deleted it after I tried to listen to it three times. Too shy to speak up, too weak or can't communicate well = goodbye, no thanks. No low-talkers.

Oh yeah, good, Whiz called... I skimmed through to fast too... sorry, just been so busy with so much stuff you know how it is. X, maybe I'll post a job finding thread here and hire someone to be me, and then I can go there and become the newest ARBOR-Xman. I wish.

I got guys leaving messages on my machine ALL THE TIME looking for work. It can be sooo tough to find good people though. But to clarify, your looking for possibly two capable ground-type workers, and yes that could be great pay! Wow...

Dude I thought he was looking for a climber so I was all like 'ring ring ring' right? Well I'd already PMd him then went back and saw..."AWWWWW MAN! He's looking for a groundie". So how stupid do I feel. SO funny, Bix.

Well if I could ever justify leaving the west coast I'd jump on this in a heart beat! Good luck X you'll find the right one.

We will be installing multiple triple x-rigging ring slings on a job next week, from the ground, to float some tree tops out over a yard. Hollow trees, so using other trees on both sides.

NO good applicants yet. One guy working for the rail road emailed me, might be good, but hasn't replied again.....

No one needs a good high paying rewarding job? Or is everyone just stupid?

We've got one ambitious new soul coming soon, I think he will fit in well. could use another person if there is one.

I've been too busy to be on the buzz lately.

later,

What surprises me is that there isn't a huge surplus of ground workers here on treebuzz?? Took me by surprise.

I am also having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that noone jumped at the opportunity to relocate and become a ground worker. Its pretty obvious that working with JDD would be a huge learning experience every day.

If I wasn't married and on the career track with big business I would totally move to Maryland and start back at the bottom!

Good Luck David!
