Anyone train?

warming up and static stretching is the key.

I'm a big fan of warming up, anything to get the blood flowing, but I prefer to jump rope when I can. Static stretching is a good way to deprive your muscles of blood flow and hurt yourself. I find dynamic stretches to be much more useful. Save the pump for the weights.

I train 5 days a week in jiu-jitsu so I really don't have the need for weight training, I climb almost every weekend whether its trad, sport or boldering, thats the beauty of north georgia mountaions, as far as guys spending 15 minutes on the clock stretching, have at it, prevention of injury goes a long way and as the employer its your responsibility to keep your guys safe and healthy, you get zero production if they are out unjured, as far as diet goes i'm very strict during the week with fruits, veggies and chicken, no exceptions and you can notice a difference in your performance!

here's a question for you guys. How do you decide how hard to train/ workout? With all of us having work the next day how hard do you push so that you can still work the next day?

I ask this because I ran for 3 miles the other day. It was the first time ive run in years. I kept an 8 min mile pace. Bad idea. I'm still sore. I could barely move my legs the next day. Luckily I had all bucket work or I would have been in trouble

8 minute miles for 3 miles is a good clip, you definetly over did it though. start back in with baby steps and it is crucial that you stretch after each activity be it running, lifting , or grappling. it is normal to be sore after getting back into any activity, just stick with it!! rock on!!

It'd be nice to see what Mark Chisolm has to say here cuz he does alot of treework and plays alot of hockey too.

I think running is absolutely awesome but you definetly should start slow...running can tear you up if you aren't careful.

I definately need to do some training before our competition in June. I am out of physical shape, so I need some cardio fast. I hope it is not too late. But besides the usual cardio and weight training, I really need to physically practice the 5 events, since I have a desk job and I rarely climb.

Does anyone practice the individual events by setting up work climbs, ariel rescues, footlocking etc.?
