Any help for this Doug fir yard tree?

Needles look good except on at least two branches. In the right light, you can see that they are "off". I will go up and remove them and any others that develop, late winter. I removed all the dead branches. It's a yard tree, near a retaining wall/sidewalk/road on one side. The rest is 2/3 lawn/landscape 1/3 wild.

tree sounds like it is on decline. Weigh factors such as what direction strong Winter storm winds come from in relation to trees site/structures etc. If the borers are weakening the strong wind side, tree is more susceptible to wind throw. Have a tree guy with instrument borer see how much the bugs have weakened outer wood. The outer live growth area is where most of trees strength is.

I admit to being offended.
While I appreciate your input, I disagree with your advice.
The larvae are so far in the branches. No exit holes elsewhere. I would expect to see the top die back first. At which point I would remove it (the top). The tree may still survive.
I think the whole tree will die before it is a danger from windthrow. It will succumb to a chainsaw before that.
