Another relatively rare ornamental. Any idea?

This is your chance Jimmy ...and the rest of you, also. I was in a metropolitan area on 5-27-05 and drove by this. Needless to say I had to go back and take a better look and get some photos. This tree/shrub is about 8'x15' and I need to get me some. Unfortunately they are not usually found in your local garden center or nursery. Any ideas? What is it?

Treeco, give'er. I saw the answer on another board and I hadn't given a guess but I did think to myself that I knew the leaf before I saw the answer. whaddya think it is? :)

Hey Jimmy,

hahaha what do you think it is?

I got it right on that other board so I won't spoil it here!

treeco, since you missed my subtle hint.. :)

canis is latin for dog
lignum is latin for wood
hence the hint (canis lignum) at dogwood. :P

but if you want to just give it away, you go ahead.

haha

Hey man I get it now.

Sometimes you just have to explain a joke. /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif
