When do you ever know the forces applied in this biz?

[/ QUOTE ]
A person can generally pull the equivalent of thier own weight. If you are 200 lbs pulling alone on a 12:1 you are pulling 2400 lbs. This is more a 'known' than a 'guestimate'.

There is no formula for a 'guestimate' pulling with machinery. All bets are off. Likewise 'experience' is more than likely dumb luck - just what you've gotten away with before!

Ya,
I'd say that is a more rational than thinking I keep getting lucky time after time in video after video, especially given some of the nonsense you all spout...

Rob,
you're math is a little simplistic.. there are several factors that will influence the numbers there... for me, the main thing I AM concerned with when pulling with a skid steer is if its on ground or pavement.. with turf tracks there is a lot less pulling power on lawn. Certainly under 4.5K lbs. x3 with a 3:1 minus friction is not going to break a 20,000 lb line.. My main concern is the slings and blocks which will need to handle 2x the bull line..

I got this one...

So its those types of questions, comments and suggestions made by many here, including Blinky and X, that make it clear to me that this type of work is far beyond your level of understanding...

[/ QUOTE ]

So I guess you dislike Blinky and me the most huh?

and I deleted a negative post I made against you recently too.....

and you still have me on your hate list.

fine, be that way.

my bet is that you have already done this tree and was successful

-OR- you haven't done it yet, and your boasting is going to get you into trouble and something might just go wrong.

If that last one is so, we won't ever see the video of course, unless you care more about video than your image. come to think of it, video might be the most important thing in your life; so maybe we will see it.

Riggs said it so well in his own unique way of writing:

"Tree coupons , bore cut state of the art pruning , yo yo yo yo , MTV , TMZ , Charlie Sheen will be there on the new arrival of the Bucket truck . Zero and a half men , new tree drama on cable . Get your Popcorn(buttered)(xtrasalt) . HA!"

X, I mention you and Blinky in particualr because many here think that you two know what you are talking about.. you have the reputation of competency, but your statements make it clear to me that you are clueless about this level of work..
ie...
9. Why on the backcut of the second trunk, did he now decide to cut up above the notch? Is it just because that's where the saw landed when he slung it up in the air and he was scared so he wasn't even thinking out such details?
......
11. The camera man sighing when Daniel is driving in the wedges says it all. He's thinking, "oh man, I'm probably going to see Daniel die today".

hint: camera man is sighing because he's tired and cramping from holding the camera still for so long!

and then Blinky's suggestion of pulling this tree 5:1 by hand assisted with wedges...

I find these and many other similar comments, questions and suggestions to be rediculous.. laughable.. and nieve...

And I keep getting it done..

I wish you safe work.

I do not wish any human to experience damage to their body or lose their life. unless they are truely an evil soul or something. And you are a not an evil person.

I wish you success in your tree removals and do not wish you harm; just to prove a point.

Take care buddy.

Like ClassicTruckMan said one time; something like: you will think theXman hates you, but he is just being theXman, he doesn't hate you, don't take it personally.

nieve? do you mean naive?

[/ QUOTE ]

You are clueless with regard to Daniel's use of the English language. Out of your element. Boy scout stuff.

nieve is Spanish for snow.

Only those of us in the 99th percentile of mental prowess are able to quickly adapt to these linguistic curveballs.

That's right, I said 'linguistic curveballs.'

"ridiculous.. laughable.. and nieve (snow)"

makes perfect sense now given the context. I always learn something new.

Ok, I've held off since becoming a member.....I sw videos on youtube( I think ) of Daniels work. I was impressed, BUT I didn't know . The first thing I noticed is the way you talk, like you the all knowing OZ, you talk to the camera/ people like they know nothing, which is fine if thats who your videos are ment for, but you're showing them to your peers, getting criticized, like everyone, but unlike everyone, you take it to heart, and keep coming back for me. This lead s me to believe you enjoy the BS, feed off it, and then talk to your buddies about how stupid everyone else is. I say this knowing full well you have more experience and skill then I do, so I'm not here bragging. Just drives me, and I suspect EVERYONE else here nuts, the way you act. Perhaps your not always right, but will not ever admit it. If you don't want to catch crap from people here,...DON'T POST IT!!!! You know full well what will get everyone going, so you show it. there is absolutely NOTHING for you to gain by being on here, you already know everything there is to know, so go th F away!! I cam on here to learn and gain skill and understanding, thought I was doing that with your videos, then find out that the VAST majority speak out against the things you do. This leads me to believe your example is NOT one to follow, so therefore you're not helping newer guys learn. Again, still don't know your motive. I understand that we all enjoy sharing experiences and ask advice, but you seem to dish out, not take, and offer little help. I could be way off here, but I have read hundreds of posts regarding you, your work, videos, and comments, and one thing rings true, you are abrasive, and people don't seem to agree with how you do things. Who knows, I'm justa squirrel trying to find a nut.

Youtube videos are available to the general public, so though obviously I know there are a lot of pros watching, I think it is only repsonsible to be as clear as possible, so that even a lay person or newbie can understand the process. This is dangerous work, life and death, and in both my writings and videos I like to be unambiguous..

I'll admit when I make a mistake or don't understand something.. I tell the truth.. and value the truth, and beleive it or not I feel happy when I make a mistake, cause that's when I learn something..

When any little thing does not go as planned, even if nothing "bad" happens as a result, I stop and analyse the situation like it was a plane crash. A few years ago I lost a big oak spar 45º to the intended lay.. the thing landed right between a specimen dogwood and a shed that had windows and flower boxes.. I stopped the job, went home to get my camera and took 146 pictures of the stump.. No saw ran until I understood exactly what happened.

And I don't take chances.. I don't get lucky.. and the many keep thinking I do, makes me realize that I AM operating at a level far beyond their understanding. Yes I get defensive and abrasive and come off as cocky, and it rubs people wrong. I've gotten used to it.. and just don't care enough to change...

THE GREAT AND POWERFUL OZ HAS SPOKEN.. LOL
