any body tryed whoopie sling amsteel 1/2 inch rated tensile strength 30,000 lbs and WLL 5100lbs just wanted to find out its new from sherril.I bought it and was little worried about abrasion and strengnth
 
I have the 1/2" Amsteel Blue whoopie sling and it's awesome! I have a large sling for blocking out big wood. And that large sling doesn't feel like it is on me. It's strength to weight ration is incredible! 1/2" diameter rope is only 6.4 lbs per 100ft.

And the specs at Samson say that it is 34,000lbs (average strength).
 
We have been using these sling for some time now and they are really good. The fibers do pick and kinda look like they fray but I have read some where that this some how protects the inner fibers. True or not I do not know but the strength and wieght are worth the experiment.
