Amateur Questions about Chainsaw Cylinder replacement

How you been Rob, been a while.

All things considered, been good my friend. Busy as can be, but that's a good thing. Just looking forwards to getting the current physically strenuous job done, so my back can settle down a bit and I can enjoy my morning coffee on the porch even more. How about yourself?

Doing well here too.
Some things have changed for our family with regards to jobs so I will most likely be going back to a J O B this fall, but for know I have a good number of firewood customers to care for and I'll take any tree work until then too :).
Sorry your back is acting up. I smashed my pointer finger last week pretty bad, glad it's almost back to where it should be.
Just ran the 2171 I did up in the above picture, she's pulling great.
Here she is in a chunk of Elm running a 24" EXL chain round filed, I had about 10 cuts and tunning it, so not even a half a tank.
Stay safe out there my friend.

Good news! I checked my compression today and I got between 145 and 150 psi! I think that's good enough isn't it?

Explanation: I realized I was using an unnecessary adapter on the fitting that screws into the spark plug hole. I had already been concerned that the adapter might be long enough to interfere with the top of the piston. So, I'm sure I wasn't tightening it enough for an accurate reading. Today, I realized I didn't need that adapter. And I tightened the fitting down tighter and got a just under 150psi.

I still need to adjust the carb some more. I hope to get to do that this evening.

It’s running very well. I haven’t run it a whole lot. Maybe 2 tanks of gas Since last compression test.
That's great. I've ran a couple tanks thru the 2171 now also. Hopefully tomorrow I can run a ported 372xpg I just got together last weekend and maybe I'll run another tank thru the 2171.
Hope you have a great weekend.

Today I’m at Norris Lake In Tennessee For a burial. Actually a burial at “sea”. Trying to lead a man to Christ too.
Sounds like a good day if he is in Christ(although his family may not feel that way right now), and as for the other, there's still hope.
Just sent a good friend home a couple weekends ago, was for us, but he's in a better place after battling cancer for 2 yrs. He was a great example of Christ thru it all.
Do your part and let Jesus do the rest :).
