Curious to why you used 2 ropes on the oak top? Both tied at the butt, why not one larger diam rope?
Did you just already have 2 smaller ropes on hand, using both to handle the load?

ya.. I actually think it's easier to handle the two 1/2" lines than a bull line... espceially of it's just for one cut.
