i have asked some others, now turn to y'all; searching for what would be accepted accronyms for climbing we have accumulated:

Climber's Specialty:

CL -Control Line
DBH Diameter @ Breast Height
DDRT = Doubled Rope Technique
DRT = Doubled Rope Technique
DNA - National Dyslexic Association
DWT = Double Whip Tackle
DZ- drop zone
FC/TIP - false crotch tie in point ----I object to the false crotch, it infers cutting into the trunk -JP
FL-foot lock
kV - 1,000 volts
KZ - Kill Zone
LZ- lowering zone
LL -Load Line
MA-Mechanical Advantage
MTip - mechanical tie in point
OA = Overhead (Support) Anchor
SRT = Single Rope Technique
TIP - Tie in point
Z - is the ANSI Z-133 safety standards


Any additions or objections would be appreciated and spread around!

Ha ha...very true Sean, an excellent example of how progress isn't always good.

Compaction of the roots was an issue - In fact so much so that we even attemted to mount this mini chipper on this cows back with the idea that it could gallop from tree to tree causing less root disturbance.

You ever tried attaching a 1 ton chipper to a live cow! not easy...we gave up after the 3rd attempt, couldn't get near the chipper. COC - Cow Owns Chipper.

TLA - Three letter acronym

A bit of mil acronym history...

SNAFU and FUBAR were popularized by the Americans in North Africa shortly after entering WWII... That's also when 'Kilroy was here' popped up. Along with SNAFU there were several other FLAs used by both British and American troops...

SUSFU - Situation Unchanged, Still F_cked up

SAFU - Self Adjusting F_ck Up

TARFU - Things Are Really F_cked Up

FUMTU - F_cked Up More Than Usual

JANFU - Joint Army Navy F_ck Up

JAAFU - Joint Anglo American F_ck Up

FUAFUP - F_cked Up And F_cked Up Proper

I'm sure that you do not mean this. The Marines of the American army provide help to many people throughout the world. People who provide help should not be called grunts.

I recieve letters from mothers whose sons and daughters are in Iraq telling me that their children are indeed helping out the Iraqi people where they can.
