A good day in Ohio

Despite nearly two days of rain beforehand, the clouds parted long enough for 6 ohio arborists to get together for an enjoyable day of climbing big trees at the of Cleveland Metroparks Bedford Reservation. Nice way to spend time with friends.

Best thing of all, the park administration seemed glad everything went well, so this time next year is a good possibility.

I've got some second-rate photos, some a bit like "Where's Waldo?", find the climber among the treetops...

Glad to see things went well. Count me in for the next one!

This looks like an absolutely fantastic place to climb!

Just keep that donut bandit away from my doughnuts......

I like donuts as well....I'd come for donuts and beer. I mean everything goes better for a beer. I will definately try to make it out next time.

Hats off to you guys for gettin' together! Up our way it seems like its "each to his own". Sad when guys can't put aside their competitive work plans and just have some fun!

OK which guy are you, Overpaidmuniguy? My wife and I are betting!

My youngest can definitely not be trusted around food, but it worked as a good diversion from messing with folks' throwlines, also one of his favorites.

Still about a hundred other good trees to climb there. Last weekend in September is the latest that area can be reserved before it's closed up for winter. I'm inclined to go ahead and reserve it again, got some good ideas for next time(including beer, Tyler).

Everyone seemed in agreement that we should be getting together more often, beyond competitions and the ISA chapter conferences. I'd say that we spent more time jawing about whatever than actual climbing, but that was just as worthwhile. I'm probably not the only one who felt more enthusiastic about trees and work after the weekend than before. It's funny how isolated we can get when we're all caught up in the day to day "each to his own".
Here's to climbing trees for its own sake.

Anyway, smart money is on the dorky guy with a beard and an old chainsaw hat. Hope nothing important got bet on it.

LOL I was RIGHT! Your boots gave you away! I wish I had bet something I could really use, like a GREAT home cooked meal!!!! My wife can run ropes with the best of 'em, cooking, NOT so much! Shhhh, don't tell her I said that!

That is quite a lookin' crew, I liked the pic of "Where is TJ" A guy that size is kinda hard to miss, BUT he was hiding well!
