tape the rope while your learning, one at your feet, at your knees and above your head. (this will give you at least one good lock to start off with)
try dropping your knee and standing on the side of the foot you capture the rope with. (this will give you more surface area to lock, hence a better lock)
keep your elbows as close as you can and keep yourself as close to the rope as you can. (this will extend your reach and minimise fatigue)
start slow and get your legs up as high as you can.
maybe i should video myself. i think i'm doing everything as efficient as possible. but the rope seems like it weighes 50 lbs. somewhere near the top and i'm already exausted, so that just adds to it. i thought i was in shape till i started this;P
