Well I don't know. We started in Tallahassee as the gezzers, then if I remember right some one re-found the story of the Lorax and sent it around and that has kinda stuck. Thanks to Lita we had Lorax patches on our sleeves 2 yrs. ago, and last year we had a great big GEZZER on the back of our shirts (thank you Lita) so I don't know what to say........ Let's put it to vote,give it the longest you can because I don't care, as long as I'm able to be around all of the young and older a like who love this stuff as much as I do. Just don't call us old farts.......

I like the Geezers because it could be an actual category of climber. "By the time I'm a Geezer, I'll be able to footlock with only one foot!". Didn't we toss around 'Geezers in the Treezers'?

As I said to Scotty, "I may meet the age requirment but I ain't no gezzer!". So I guess I prefer Lorax.

Hello all,
When I began The Over 40 comp that was what it was called. I invited all who wanted to participate to join in . It has grown and evolved over its young life and now I feel it should be known as The Over 40 Geezer Invitational . The Lorax Cup is actually the name of the trophy the survivor...ooops Imean winner gets. The cup was provided by two time winner Jasper T. Cornfeild aka Scott Prophett. The culmination of the day is historicly the Passing of the Cup celebration, whereas the competetors line up and have the opportunity to breafly hold the trophy before handing it on down the line ultimately ending up with the champ. This is done because at our age we cant be sure we will be around for the next year so by touching the Cup we infuse our spirit forever.Let the games begin . See you all in a few weeks.

We're sure now? "The Over 40 Geezer Invitational"? We're about ready to send the graphics to the t-shirter (technical title) so if there are any qualms it's going to be now or forever hold your peace......

Hey Scotty we got the road trip machine up and running. Leaving Cleveland on the 17th, pick up KentuckySawyer and KYLimbwalker on 18th and make it to Florida in time to help with set up. (hopefully night of 18th) Is there anything you want us to bring with us? Maybe some cold weather and snow to ice the climbers aching joints? Some extra extra high strength lines to handle the excessive weight on the footlock? Some stop watches that measure in hours, not minutes? Just kidding LOL... well sort of anyway. We are really psyched to be heading down, can't wait to see you guys.

Great news, how about a sundial for the foot lock, extra grcs to get us up the belayed speed, ya some snow would be ok most of the kids have never seen it. And you think your psyched you just mad us very happy, the more the better,come one come all. Hey you bring your Mrs. with you?
Will see if we can't find some suisi (sp) for sat eve.
