Just a quick update:

We will be getting instructions and some specific driving directions on how to get to the Symposium location soon......keep on eye open on this space and the www.splicingsymposium.com website for more details.

In the meantime, I wanted to suggest to everyone who has and is bringing splicing tools to this event to consider getting a way to mark/identify your stuff. This way we you can keep track of what's yours and where it is. A bag, box, bucket, etc. will help you keep it all in one spot and keep your items with you.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Thanks!

Thank you for the update. I just sealed the deal on my very own treeboat, thanks Zac and Justin. So, I hope to be sleeping in "Hickory Heights Hotel" .... but if I get to drinking with Familytree, then who needs sleep!!! I should be down some time Thursday to help out with anything that needs helping with. You best have something for me to do, Rich!!

Haha!! Yeah right!!! Camping is the last thing he'd want to do!! Heat or A/C and a bed is the only way he rolls!

For those camping I would highly recommend bringing WARM clothes and camping gear. We are expecting reasonably warm temps, but you never can tell. For those sleeping in Treeboats I would highly recommend bringing some sort of headlamp so you can see what you are doing while fumbling around at 80' around 2:00 in the morning. If any of you know any tricks for getting rid of the evil scourge known as TICKS...please, please let me know. There is a good bet that those suckers will be rearing their evil fangs at some point during this event. Don't say I didn't warn you !!!

Chop up a clove of garlic and drink it with a glass of h2o every morning.

It works for me. I havent had a tick on me in years.

That stuff may work for Beer fed Ohio Ticks, but it is next to worthless with our Bourbon soaked Kentucky vampires!!! Any product that claims to work for chiggers is just plain snake oil...believe me I have found that out the hard way.

The next time you run into Cormac Nagan or Mike Skillin ask them about their adventure with KY ticks.....you'll have a great laugh with that story !!!

do you have any tick stories you'd like to share?

Just kidding, you're probably immune...

Yeah, my tick story is for mature audiences only...That would have been one hell of a lucrative side career had I capitalized on it
