Due to the recent ice storm and wind storms that we have suffered here in L'ville (not to mention the fire and other damage we had on the property) we have decided to move the classroom portion of this event from the 750 acre farm to a building in nearby Lebanon Junction (2 miles from farm) This building is split into 2 seperate rooms, and therefore, we have decided to modify how we intend to run the actual classes. For those who attended this event last year and had to suffer through somewhat chilly conditions in the large Barn you will be thrilled to know that the classes this year will be held in climate controlled rooms with many more anchoring points than we had last year. The tentative class schedule is attached to this post. Note that these times are tentative and more than likely we will spend considerably more time splicing than you see in the syllabus.
We still fully intend to have the 750 acre property available for recreational use, including: camping, climbing, treeboating, canoeing, hiking, lounging around, fishing, and goofing off. The only real change is that the classroom sessions will be held off the property.
As for the Treeboats.....
Due to the fact that we will have a limited number of Treeboats for use I am hoping that we can alternate between the participants in order to allow as many people as possible to experience sleeping aloft. So far we have 5 Treeboats available and my hope is that we can line up 5 people who will be heading into town on Friday 13 Feb, 5 who can use the boats on Saturday 14 Feb, and then finally 5 people who plan to stay over Sunday night for that last shift. Certainly those who plan to come earlier than Friday or stay later than Monday would have the boats available to them as well. I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who knows for sure that they will be staying over Sunday night or arriving early in order to start figuring out the schedule for Treeboat use. I am still doing what I can to acquire more Treeboats for use, so the numbers involved here may change.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding any of this.
