I was considering the need to harden the hands in training for the SSS, last year I had more blisters than fingers. Before I fired up the hibachi to start bare-handing the coals like I saw in a kung-fu movie I had a better idea:

Tax return buys the wife a new climbing saddle and line!
A couple eyes, hip prusik and a few slings and I should be good to go...
