Do you think that wound will ever compartmentalize? I know it was necessarry, however, decay will now been introduced to the tree. I have seen it many times out here in Colorado with Plains Cottonwoods. In the future (it maybe 50 years or so) there will be a huge hollow there and the structure of the tree will be unsound. Rebuttal anyone?

Don't remember. We had to clean up all the brush from the broken limb which was in the nabors yard. When the limb fell, it took out the nabors service, fone and CATV lines. All the lines were restrung when we got there. Cutting, dragging and chipping up the fallen debris, and the limb removal took 7.5 crew hours (22.5 hours).
