man I've never climbed anything over probably 100', and that was when i worked for a few days in Maryland and was up in an huge oak chasing a hanger. if i remember right my TIP was probably only 75'.

....but one day....

Upper Freehold Twp. There's Tulips like that all over the state to be honest. I remember measuring one in the 90's that was 146' at the time.
Clayton county park in upper freehold. Mega massive tulip trees as far as the eye could see!!.. awesome spot for rec climbing amd mountain biking hiking. Crazy part is its completly surrounded by farm land and the parks got tulips 100 to 130 ft tall. Prob one of my favorite spots in the world!

Here is/was the largest Tuliptree in Ohio in 1997, next the largest Bur oak (on top of page I cut back) which when I topped it it was likely another 10' taller at least in 2004. That tree is at the bottom of my block hill in my town.

The Tuliptree may not be the tallest as the largest tree was measured by Ht., DBH, and Canopy spread. So a taller Tulip could exist but not measure up in the other 2 categories.

Note the Sycamore on the New Jersey page which is usually the largest tree in Eastern and Midwestern States when they are measured by Trunk dia, height and canopy spread.

Last was the largest Tuliptree in NewJersey in 1984 measured only at the time by DBH in Mercer County.
