2014 Picture of the Year

that's funny treevet, i remember asking, "how did he do that?" after watching the video and Bix posted that pic for me. And now you're asking "what kind of clip did that produce?" after seeing the pic of it. Kinda like opposite world. regardless, cool idea with great results IMO.

got some text today about this thread going on. Love this thread every year! Don't forget, it HAS TO BE from current year. 2014.

What is the max size picture allowed on the buzz now? I want to push it to the extreme when I post.

Really liked SO MANY so far. Ones that stand out are Reg's last picture of three. TreeCycles panorama. and some tree with ferns and plants all over it.

since some posted some video, I uploaded a segment just for this. A lot going on behind the scenes in this short clip: 85% hollow tulip tree at the base, top leaned over the house, put in two guide lines to hold main stalk still and notched, pulled and dropped the whole 40 or 50 foot top. Wish I had another camera at the TOP of the tree to show full length......It was easily twice the length shown, oh well, next time.

tiny peek of video I'm working on called "Drop Zone". I actually do drop where I can, when I can fit it in. Just never did a video on it yet.

zero point - the transfer when it goes from hang time to fall time, that transfer of energy from kinetic to gravitational.
but if it hinged over REALLY slow, wouldn't the saw dust stay put? Oh.... same thing I guess...... maybe? I would expect some speed during actual FALL TIME before sawdust blew off. Sorry to get technical, it's just a little interesting; I'm not being picky.

which falls faster the feather or the rock?, gravity and kinetic forces are enacted and play out differently in relation to mass v surface area, if it hinged over real slow there is less kinetic being expressed and more time for gravity to take effect so sure the dust would leave at a slower less violent rate. will get a vid going to properly demonstrate this. You picky? nah wouldn't believe it for a minute, pull the other one and it plays jingle bells.
