200T Repair Help

I recently picked up a 200t for free. It had no carb and piston is scored badly.
My question to this group is
do I rebuild with oem parts?
Or a off brand piston & crank kit for half the price?
Thirdly what mods can or should I do to improve saw?

I am no saw builder, but have been around a few and the consensus that I have been given is to go OEM on the cylinder and if you do want to save a few dollars the Meteor piston has been favored for non OEM piston...as for mods, mostly just muffler mod by expanding discharge. I have also recently acquired a 200t and it is in need of some repair. I have had the same inquiries as you and these are my findings. Good Luck with a beauty little saw
