Yesterday was our chapter TCC...

A good time was had by all!

Here are the Master challenge finalists;

1st Place- Pierce Wasmund, Northern Arborists
2nd Place- Rob Jutten, St Croix Tree
3rd Place- Robert Lee (Turner), Tree Climbing Team USA
4th Place- Benjamin Cooper, Rainbow Treecare



In the prelims;

work climb champion- Rob Jutten, St Croix Tree
aerial rescue champion- Pierce Wasmund, Northern Arborists
footlock champion- Tony Sackett, Tree climbing team USA
belayed speed climb champion- David Kolstad, Rainbow tree
throwline champion- ( it just dawned on me, I dont know who won this event, sorry)


and hats off to our 2 female climbers this year;

1st place champion-Rebecca Richardson, Asphlund tree
2nd place runner up-Rebecca Siebel-Hunt, Majestic Tree

Yes, a good time was had by all. The event went very smooth thanks to all the volunteers and judges. George and Lynne Welles did a great job as the chairs.

And how did the Jedi Master of Minnesota Arborculture do?

I would have loved to have been there to see Gary compete. Instead I was up in the mountains practicing self arrests in a snow storm. I thought about my family in Minnesota a lot yesterday.
 
I believe Gary came in at 14th. He had a solid work climb with a minor mistake that cost him time points.
I was priveledged to judge the WC, and getting too see the different styles of all 31 competetors was very interesting. Most climbers with lots of bling on their saddles, and some very basic. Gary's kit I would consider very basic, but his experience is always evident when he climbs, he moves very efficiently, aggressively and probably has more stamina than most guys half his age.

Jedi master, yes!

I will have to second that one, It was eye candy watching him float through the arial rescue station I worked so hard to make difficult
