2 in New Jersey

I think jimmyq nailed it from what i could tell in the photos! Brian G what is the usda climate zone there in Rahway, NJ? I've been dying to try to grow Sequoiadendron giganteum here in zone 5 (with expected occasional winter burn.) I've had great luck with Calocedrus decurens, thuja plicata, and even leylands. In Dirr's manual he states he's gotten reports of the blue form of S.giganteum growing in scandinavia? I wouldn't even think about trying S.sempervirens, i think they'd strugle in zone 7.

Saw this one today in Champaign, il. (zone 5) S. giganteum. The owner planted it 17 years ago. There is the winter burn I mentioned in my last post. Please, if you get time, let me know how that S. sempervirens holds up there in N.J.!
