175 Ton Knuckleboom

Someday I'll be able to afford 175 ton k-booms and fish eye lenses.

Hey Mike, I noticed that on every pick you had the hook on the outer extension. I thought that with a K-boom you had to move the hook back to the ext. that had the required capacity?

The hook always stays on the outer extension. The sections just stay retracted when not needed. There would be no need to move the hook.

Hey Chopper How's it goin'? Tierson is right but if visibilty is even questionable we use 2-way radios. I did these oaks with the 2-ways (3 picks in 1)

Next tree (before cut) Hey No Bivy! That truck can get into a more narrow driveway than a dually pickup! But you're right! It's VERY flat here. (I've parked it in quite a few single wide drives, but you need room on the street to line up or tires go off into the lawn

Do you guys/gals think that the ISA will want to incorporate a K-boom cert? And then make you sign a paper stating if you have ever used, intend to use, or intend to look at a stick boom ever again?

What's up Carl? Yeah i'm weird in that i like to run the lower straps below the gaff. For me it just seems to work better.
