11mm vs. wrist

Lots of people do. Melissa and Bear have gone back to 1/2 inch because of it, and I have started using a handled ascender lately just to reduce the issues. I don't climb as much, but my wrist issues are advanced from thinking I was invincible when I was younger.

I remember when I first saw an 11mm rope. The first thing I said was "That looks like it'll be hell on the carpal tunnel." I guess there is something to it after all.

Dual ascenders, 11mm = 22mm not so bad.

The research didn't single out ascent on SRT or DdRT. The interest was to see what the physio aspects were on grip power like we would encounter during climbing/slack tending and other activities.

So 13mm + grippy gloves = Even less forearm issues?

I'll say.

13mm + grippy gloves + more frequent stretching of hand/ wrist/ forearm muscles = even less forearm issues.
