Ok, I have no clue what the heck this thing is. It's not much more than 30' high. As you can see, it is multi-stemmed. There are some light-green berries (that may change color later in the year??).
I don't think so, the coffeberry has a pod-like fruit.
I am guessing chinaberry (Melia azederach or azedarach)
also called Pride of india, Persian lilac, bead tree.
Are the leaves bipinnately compound?
I hope I'm wrong because it's considered a weed...
If by bipinnately compound you mean that the leaflets are found in pairs directly across eachother across the axis (leaf stalk?), then yes, they are bipinnately compound. I get the feeling just looking at the tree that it is a weed tree like a box elder.
But as it is now, I like how it looks, it provides good shade, and it's not hurtin' nothin'.
Nick,
This is what I mean by bipinnate.
Dirr claims it is a pest but it may not be in
the western states. It's not in the California
invasive plant list. It looks nice.
