nope, however, this is kind of a major clue. The fruit usually doesn't come ripe untill a good cold snap or the first freez.

I see I'm having the same id prob. as you Mark. Not used to some of the trees in your neck of the woods.Let a few more guesses and then I'll put up the actual fruit, but green .

Jimmy , I know it's not a fuyu. I forget the variety, but the chocolates and fuyu stay hard and you can eat them like an apple. This variety you cant (softer) more for baking .I will find out for you though .
