For waterproof boots good for spikes I use meindl air streams, for all other climbing I use salewa rapace. The rapace can be used on spikes also as they are crampon compatible but for long stints I'd say the meindl are better on spikes.
Mainly for ease of undoing bro. You could also clip Into it and sever the line below if you felt you would have to walk away from the stem during a rescue but it's 99% purely for ease of untieing.
i dont run the carbiner around the rope as i feel with a redirect in place the rope runs against the carabiner and not the pulley when retrieving, a minor issue but just a teeny difference.
personally i believe the DMM pinto to be way stronger in situation where it can experience a side load due to the becket. please remember that this is not a manufacturer's how to video- it is just a collection of ideas that we wanted to share.

pantin on, the CF geckos fit on top-the pantin and gaff are next to each other.So ill spike up when but using the pantin as normal to trap the rope- this also limits the chance of gafffing your rope mr c
